These terms apply to the use of the website https://victoria-stotskaia.com and to the free calls offered through it. The website is run by — (Victoria), —, Germany. By using the website, creating an account or booking a call, you accept these terms.
1. What this website offers
On this website I share notes and lessons from my life as a mother of two sons, one of whom has Down syndrome, and I offer free one-to-one video calls for parents. Everything on the website is free of charge. I am a parent, not a doctor, therapist or psychologist. Please also read the Disclaimer.
2. Using the website
You may use the website for personal, non-commercial purposes. Please do not:
- disrupt the website or try to access it without authorisation;
- copy content automatically on a large scale (scraping) or use it to train AI systems (see Copyright);
- enter false information, other people's data without their permission, spam or unlawful content;
- use the booking or contact options for advertising.
I try to keep the website available, but I cannot guarantee that it will always work without interruption. I may change, pause or end the website or individual services at any time.
3. Account
- An account is optional and free.
- Only adults (18 or older) may create an account.
- Please give correct details and keep your password secret. If you think someone else is using your account, please tell me straight away.
- You can delete your account at any time on your account page.
- I may suspend or delete an account if it is clearly misused or if these terms are seriously breached. Where reasonable, I will let you know beforehand.
4. Booking a free call
- The call is a free one-to-one video conversation of up to 30 minutes between you and me. It is peer support from one parent to another, not a professional consultation.
- A booking may need my confirmation. The call is fixed once you have received a confirmation email.
- I may decline a request, for example if no suitable time is available or if the topic is beyond what I can offer as a parent.
- The call takes place on a video platform I choose (for example Zoom, Google Meet or Yandex Telemost). I send you the link by email. The platform's own terms and privacy rules apply.
- You can move or cancel the call with the personal link in your confirmation email until shortly before it starts. If the link no longer works, please write to —. If you cannot come, please cancel, so that another parent can have the time.
- I may also have to cancel or move a call, for example because of illness or a family emergency. I will let you know by email as early as possible and, where I can, offer you a new time. Because the call is free, a cancellation does not cause costs for either side.
- Please be on time and join from a quiet place with a working internet connection. If you are late, the call may be shorter, because it ends at the planned time.
- Calls are not recorded. Please do not record the call or take screenshots of it either.
- Please treat each other with respect. I may end a call if someone is insulting or threatening or otherwise behaves inappropriately.
5. No medical or professional advice
The notes, lessons and calls share personal experience. They are not medical, psychological, therapeutic, legal or educational advice and do not replace professional help. Details are in the Disclaimer.
6. Content and copyright
The texts, notes, lessons, illustrations and design of this website are protected by copyright. What you may and may not do with them is explained on the Copyright page.
7. Links to other websites
The website may contain links to other websites. I have no influence on their content and am not responsible for it.
8. Liability
I provide the website and the calls free of charge. My liability is therefore limited as far as German law permits:
- I am liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and wherever liability is mandatory by law (for example under the German Product Liability Act).
- For slight negligence, I am liable only if I breach an essential obligation, meaning an obligation whose fulfilment makes the proper use of the service possible in the first place and on which you may regularly rely. In that case, my liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of service.
- Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded.
I do not promise any particular result from reading the notes or from a call.
9. Applicable law
These terms are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany. If you use the website as a consumer and live in another country, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live.
If any provision of these terms is or becomes invalid, the remaining provisions remain effective.
10. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms, for example when the website changes. The current version is always on this page. If you have an account, I will inform you about important changes by email in advance. If you do not agree with them, you can delete your account at any time.
